Agnes Strange If Agnes Strange had been with Harvest, Vertigo, or perhaps Virgin, they probably would have been rock legends today, but sadly Birds Nest Records did not have the ‘clout’ needed to put the band up there. So we are left with this one collection of their recordings to make us realize what might have been! Agnes Strange were a terrific band on stage, so boogie on to these classic rock memories. |

Alex Cortiz The new album “Make Believe” from Alex Cortiz is more than a logical successor to “Moodfood”and again it seems Alex is a step ahead of us. “Make Believe” is even more complete and mature than “Moodfood” already was, it contains more funky-, soul- and dance rhythms. If any music-trend has absolutely broken through in almost all of Europe, it is the ‘downtempo’ also known with a broader public as ‘lounge’. It is a well-known fact that lounge isn’t just meant to be for people in their thirties of forties. It has become evident that the appeal of this music is so big and broad that a target group is no longer to be defined. |
Alex Ligertwood ALEX LIGERTWOOD grew up in the rough and tumble city of Glasgow. For him, it was a place just east of Detroit or Memphis. He loved American music, especially Motown, Rhythm and Blues, and Soul. It was raw, electric, and didn’t hold anything back. His musical idols included the legendary voices of RAY CHARLES, SAM COOKE, OTIS REDDING, CURTIS MAYFIELD and MARVIN GAYE -- good company for a budding vocalist. |

Alkymia (Claudio Stern And Alvaro Taboada) As the ancient alchemist striving to turn base metals into gold, Alkymia takes some of the basic and most primitive element of music, such as the human voice and the essential beat of ethnic drums, combining them with contemporary guitars and keyboards, to create a magical and startling fusion that will transport you on a unique journey of the senses. |

Amadeus Guitar Duo Dale Kavanagh (Canada) and Thomas Kirchhoff (Germany) have been playing together since 1991 and have given more than 250 concerts in many European contries and Northe America. |
Amy Cooper Amy Cooper’s been doing it on her own since the beginning. Inspired to learn a song she heard when she was 17, she dug out her father’s guitar that had been collecting dust in their basement and ended up writing a song of her own. It would be the first of many. |
Andreas Grau and Gotz Schumacher, pianos; Deutsches Symphony These unusual works bring to mind the work of many Soviet composers after Shostakovich: I'm reminded especially of Ligeiti. Dialoge (Tracks 1-7); Monologe (Tracks 8-12); Perspektiven (Tracks 13 and 14); Photoptosis (Track 15)
